Stopping texts, deleting what Carl remembers, and how to reach a person.

What Carl is

Carl is an AI you can call on the phone and talk to. He is not a helpline, a support desk, or an assistant — he is somebody to talk to. He says he is an AI when he picks up, and again any time you ask.

Texts

Reply STOP to any message to stop all texts. Reply HELP for these details by text.

Message and data rates may apply. At most one message per call. The full message terms explain what is sent and when.

Deleting what Carl remembers

Carl only remembers you if you agreed to it on a call. Text FORGET ME to his number and he replies with a four-digit code to confirm it is really you.

If texting is not working, email the address on the privacy page and say which number you called from. It is handled by hand.

Something went wrong

If a call would not connect, Carl told you something that was not true, or a payment did not do what you expected, email the address on the privacy page. Include the number you called from and roughly when.

If you need help now

Carl is not a crisis service. In the United States, call or text 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, any time. If someone is in immediate danger, call 911.

The published crisis protocol describes how Carl handles this.
