Message terms.
Carl is a phone line. These are the terms for the few texts that go with it.

The program
Carl is an AI you can call and talk to. This page covers the text messages the service sends, which are a small part of it — everything else happens on the phone.
Texts are sent by Carl to the caller ID that placed a call, and only in direct response to that call or to a message you send us first. There is no marketing list, no newsletter, and no way to be added to one.
Carl asks out loud, on the call, before sending anything. How Carl asks shows the exact words.
What you might receive
A payment link, if you ran out of included minutes on a call and told Carl you wanted one.
A confirmation code, if you texted FORGET ME and we need to check the request came from the handset that holds the number.
A reply, if you texted HELP or STOP.
How often
At most one message per phone call, and one reply per message you send. Most callers never receive a text at all.
Cost
Carl does not charge for text messages. Message and data rates may apply from your own mobile carrier.
Stopping messages
Reply STOP to any message to stop all texts. You will receive one confirmation and nothing after that. Stopping texts does not stop you calling Carl, and it costs you nothing else — no minutes, no account, no worse service.
Reply START to begin receiving them again.
Getting help
Reply HELP to any message for support details, or see the help page.
Carriers and delivery
Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery depends on your carrier and your handset, and neither Carl nor your carrier can guarantee that any particular message arrives.
Your information
What Carl records, how long it is kept, and how to have it deleted are all described in the privacy policy.
Text messaging opt-in data and consent are never shared with third parties or affiliates for any purpose, including marketing.
Supported carriers
Messages are sent to mobile numbers in the United States. Carrier support is not guaranteed and may change.
